A look back at EUT's 2023 Teaching Day

The plenary session provided an opportunity for rich and fruitful discussions on the attractiveness of regions and the work of university institutes of technology (IUTs).

Interventions by the plenary assembly

The plenary session provided an opportunity for rich and fruitful discussions on the attractiveness of the regions and the work of the IUTs, in the presence of Samy Sisaid, Sub-Prefect for Economic Recovery, Olivier Dugrip, Rector of the Academic Region, Helene Insel, Rector, Catherine Staron, Vice-President for Higher Education and Research for the Region, the Vice Presidents of Grenoble-Alpes-Métropole Melina Herenger and Pascal Clouaire, the Vice President of Com-Com du Grésivaudan Jean-François Clappaz, and representatives from the business world, notably Mr. Stephane Damour, President of CPME de la Drôme, and Mr. Pascal Moraux from the company Tessi, a member of the Cercle de l'Y.

These personalities responded to three wonderful presentations proposed by
  • René Favier (Professor Emeritus of History at the University of Grenoble),
  • Magali Talandier (University Professor at the Institute of Urban Planning and Alpine Geography at the University of Grenoble, Chair of the Grenoble Green Capital Scientific Council)
  • and Gérald Dulac (Founder of Eolas and President of Ulysse, former local elected official).

Finally, by attending this event, UGA President Yassine Lakhnech demonstrates that regional attractiveness is an issue that is important to the UGA, and more specifically to the EUT.

But the day would not have been a success without the afternoon workshops led by the three IUT Directors and their respective partners, which brought together IUT staff and their partners to discuss issues such as promoting technological education, changes in the job market, and reorienting students' career paths.

The challenge now is to think about the next step, while remaining focused on maintaining this link between global considerations and educational concerns.
