On February 2, 2026, Jean-Claude Leprêtre (IUT1, Chemistry) explained his research work at the LEPMI laboratory (Electrochemistry and Physical Chemistry of Materials and Interfaces).
The theme: Electric vehicles: from lead batteries in the 19th century to lithium batteries today. This conference combines science, innovation, and historical anecdotes, with a special focus on the legendary electric car "Jamais Contente" (Never Satisfied), the first to exceed 100 km/h at the end of the 19th century. A clear and accessible way to understand how advances in materials and chemistry have shaped electric mobility from yesterday to today.
